I never thought I would say Fridays Busch race was waaay better than Saturdays Famous $400 a ticket night race. The Bush race used the old cars. So they could go 3-4 wide on the half mile track and bump people out of their way. The new "COT" cars in the Nextel Cup Saturday race are expensive, plus the chase is so close nobody wants to wreck. When the race to the chase is over in a couple races, only the top 12 drives in points get to race for the Nextel Cup. They all start with zero points so it's fair.
Here's a picture of the COT or Car of Tommarrow. This is Dale Jr.'s car, and my favorite driver. He finished 5th. He how the valence keeps them from bumping assholes who are 3 laps behind to out of the way? Great for fast tracks, bad for shortracks. Now my drive Dale Jr is in 13th place. He needs to get to 12th in points in order to make the chase for the cup. Right now this is his last season with Dale Earnhart Inc. Because he stepmom has 51% control of the company and Dale wouldn't resign unless he got 51%. She said no. So he signed with Hendrick Motorsports. His stepmom would even let him have his number so his new nunber will be 81 and he will be sponsored my Pepsi instead of piss water Bud. He will drive a sweet Mountain Dew car.
I has secret leaked photos of what that car will look like. It's a 81 Mountain Dew Car. I can't post them here.
I was part of world record card display. 180,000 people except my wife. She insisted on bringing the camera to only take 3 shots on nothing and one of the was blurry. She claimed the card stunt was ghey and she wasn't to take pics. Luckily my friend Earl who paid $200 for my ticket took some sweet pics.
Night racing, 160,000 fans, sold out, 5 miles from my house. Hells yes.
Carl Edward dominated the race and he won. He has won there before in Busch, not Nextell cup. I don't dislike him, but doing backbflips every time you win is stupid. What happens when you are 50 and still racing? I'll tell you. Broken bones.
Carls gets his trophy from being the most Eddie Haskell-ish from "Leave it to Beaver."
Overall, Bush race was a 10 out of 10. plenty of extra seats, we sat where we wanted. Nextel Cup disappointed me. They drove like they were driving their own personal cars. Going 40 laps without a caution sucks, especially if you are holding you pee waiting for one to use the bathroom.
